Though the national results were extremely disappointing, with too many Liberal Democrat target seats missed by a narrow margin, the local results for the four constituencies within the Sevenoaks, Dartford and Gravesham Liberal Democrats area provided some cheer despite none being a target seat enjoying any central support: In Dartford we more-than-doubled our vote-share (up by 165%), putting us clearly in third place. In Gravesham we more-than-doubled our vote share (up by 116%) putting us clearly in third place. In Sevenoaks we more-than-doubled our vote share (up by 136%) putting us clearly in second place and the challengers to the Conservatives. In Tonbridge and Malling, we more than doubled our vote share (up by 131%) moving into second place for only the second time.
