Election Letter from Gareth

Gareth election

Sevenoaks and Swanley Liberal Democrats believe that we deserve better than Johnson and Corbyn. The General Election has profound choices for the future of Britain.

What has happened since the 2016 referendum is failure to govern for the good of the country, or address the issues that people really care about. The Conservative government ran out of ideas. It was hijacked by "No Deal" Brexiteers determined to remove us from the EU without a mandate, despite the damage to our economy, society and global status. Labour cannot articulate a position on crucial issues or challenge Boris Johnson and is pursuing an economic model that became outdated in the 70s.

A new approach is needed. The Lib Dems are the only true Remain Party. We are ready to fight this election in the knowledge that our cause is now the majority view. The national picture for our party is strong. We are the fastest growing party, attracting first time voters and converts alike. Lib Dems are winning seats with outstanding results in Council, European and By-elections. Our Remain message is endorsed by voters and the polls show Lib Dems gaining votes to make big inroads into Conservative seats across the South of England.

Sevenoaks and Swanley Liberal Democrats have a robust strategy, focusing on three key issues: Europe, Environment and Housing. It is clear that in this constituency the Liberal Democrats are the only realistic opposition to the Conservatives.
