Tory Minister Spins Electricity Blackout Risks

The risk of blackouts this winter has increased compared with a year ago, according to National Grid.

National Grid has secured extra supplies by paying to have several plants on standby and by asking some industries to switch off power. To keep the lights on for homes, companies such as Tata Steel, will have to switch off at times of very high usage.

Energy Minister Andrea Leadsom said ""National Grid have confirmed that our plan to power the economy is working - and it means that the lights will stay on this winter as well as making sure our homes and businesses have the gas and electricity they need in the future.". She has clearly forgotten about the fact that some companies may have to switch off. Not quite the same as having the electricity they need! It is time Tory ministers told the truth - the whole truth!
