Southeastern continues to deliver shambolic rail services for Sevenoaks commuters

So as predicted the Southeastern franchise has been renewed - but the meltdown in train services continues anon...

The main issues are:

- collapsing train punctuality - even before the London Bridge rebuild starts

- poor passenger information, which will be a real disaster which will hit passengers hard as disruption mounts

- fares from West Kent which are 20% higher than from other routes into London via Surrey, Essex, Hertfordshire

- no decision yet on whether we will be able to use London Underground in the price of our Rail ticket when London Bridge is part closed starting in January. The rail companies are still bickering about who will pay.

The latest information on Southeastern performance shows that performance, averaged over a year, has declined each over the past 9 months and that performance over Summer 2014 - traditionally the best season for Southeastern - is significantly lower than in the previous two summers. This is based on Network Rail figures reported by the Office of Rail Regulation.

Sevenoaks Lib Dems are calling for a FARES FREEZE, as we are still paying well over the odds, for poorer rail services.
