With hospital waiting lists lengthening and stressed-out nursing staff quitting our cash-strapped health services, only the Lib Dems have a sustainable solution to our worsening NHS funding crisis.

We are calling for an immediate 1 pence increase in income tax to bring an extra £6 billion a year - much needed - to help fund our vital health and social welfare services.

£1 billion of this extra money would be ring-fenced as dedicated funding for mental health services.

What would you rather have - longer waiting times and demoralised staff under the Tories, or a well-founded NHS under the Lib Dems?

You can decide by voting Lib Dem on Thursday June 8.
