Ruling Tory Town Councillors are trying hard to:

- restrict allotment holders to a short lease on land they have cared for over 50 years

- take land legally protected for allotments to build a 40-space car park tucked away in Kennedy Gardens

This is the last big green growing space left in Sevenoaks town, given to the people for allotments 100 years ago, and used by 250 families.

Council leaders are more interested in cash than in doing the right thing for local people - or their legal responsibility for allotments. If they succeed this will be yet another raid on open land originally given to the town. It could make the allotments unviable.

Where will it end?
