John Owen Jones is your local Lib Dem candidate for Swanley and Hextable. He is retired and lives on White Oak ward.

John is a true champion for health, social welfare and environmental issues.

"I would be a full time County Councillor for the people of Swanley and Hextable, unlike the Tory. I would also ensure that all expenses paid go to local good causes.

I want to protect the historic trees at the Woodlands and green lungs of our community with tree preservation orders. I will also fight to keep the Orchards open and not sold off by the Tories for housing.

I fully support campaigns for safety streets and traffic calming, more road crossings, and 20 mph zones for schools.

I also will fight for health and welfare services to be delivered locally and much closer to where people live, not centralised at hospitals many miles away.

We also need to mend our roads and potholes properly, spend more money on their upkeep, and only build new housing where there is sufficient infrastructure in place or planned for the future, with full consultation with local people.

This includes better bus and improved rail services for Swanley and Hextable.
