About Richard

Richard went to The Judd School, and Warwick University where he read Politics with French. He has an MBA from the Open University. He commissioned into Royal Green Jackets in 1997 and then the Rifles, serving in Germany and the UK, and on operations in Northern Ireland, Bosnia, where he earned a Queen's Commendation for Valuable Service, Kosovo and Afghanistan in 09/10 and in September 2010 he was made MBE for service in Afghanistan.

Since leaving the Army in 2012 he has set up and run a weddings and events business in Sevenoaks District. He has been a Parish Councillor and Chair of the Parish Council in Chiddingstone. He is on the executive committee of the Gatwick Area Conservation Campaign.

In May 2021 he was elected as the county councillor for Sevenoaks Town. In June 2022 he won a by-election for Sevenoaks District Council for his home ward, Penshurst, Fordcombe and Chiddingstone.
