There are now four Liberal Democrats on Sevenoaks District Council. Three were elected in May 2019:



Our newest district councillor is Richard Streatfeild, elected in June 2022.
Sevenoaks Town Council
There are eight Liberal Democrats on Sevenoaks Town Council.
Northern Ward
Merilyn Canet (Sevenoaks Town Mayor, 2021-2022)
Merilyn has lived most of her life in Sevenoaks, raising her family and working here in the health service.
Merilyn has worked on improvements to Bradbourne Lakes, for better sports faciities at Greatness, and the rebuilding of Bat & Ball Station.
Merilyn is keen to encourage safer streets around our schools, to fix our roads and pavements
She wants to clear up our pubic spaces so they are safe and free from litter.
Merilyn works with the Sevenoaks Seniors Action Forum to create a better deal for older people.
This means encouraging better public transport, and homes and infrastructure that work for all familes

Claire Shea (Chair of Community Infrastructure Investment; Deputy Mayor, 2022-2023)
Claire has lived near Bradbourne Lakes since 2009.
A professional working on design and project management for housing, hospitals and regeneration projects.
Claire has good experience of getting things done!
She currently lives with her family - including three children at local schools.
Claire believes their future requires sensible, collaboratine and inclusive politics.
She wants safe streets around our schools, improvements to our parks, and the best sustainable design for the homes we need.
Victoria Granville-Baxter (Vice Chair of Open Spaces, and of Stag Trustees)
Victoria is a Sevenoaks designer who cares passionately about the history and natural environment of our town.
She works with local voluntary groups, includingSevenoaks Society, the Kent Visual Arts Forum, and the U3A to promote the town for all to enjoy.
She designed the 2019 Sevenoaks Heritage Exhibition and has co-authored 7 books to encourage walking and fitness for all ages.
Victoria is currently Vice Chair of Stag Trustees.

EASTERN WARD
Tony Clayton (Chair Finance and Vice Chair Personnel)
Tony has lived in Bayham Road since 1983, and served as a Town Councillor for Eastern ward since 1987.
He also served as a District Councillor up to 2007, in which time he led the Blighs development and set up Sevenoaks first Town Partnership to promote our High Street and local economy.
Tony has worked as an economist in the commercial business sector, as an advisor to major UK companies and in government.
He promotes good public transport as chair of Sevenoaks Rail Travellers Association.
Tony wants to see Sevenoaks streets safer for walkers and cyclists, and less dominated by speeding traffic.

Tom Morris - Brown
Tom grew up in Sevenoaks and after time away working in London is now living in Hillingdon Avenue.
He was elected to serve Eastern ward in May 2019 - and married four weeks later.
Tom is a keen cyclist and believes passionately in improving local sustainable transport for residents of all ages.
A frequent visitor to Stag, he wants to develop our local arts centre's very real potential.
As a gardener and member of several conservation groups, Tom is committed to Keep Sevenoaks Green, as well as supporting local businesses and community organisations

Elizabeth Ancrum
Elizabeth was elected in May 2022 replace Ed Waite, who sadly passed away in March.Libby Ancrum is a former senior teacher at Walthamstow Hall, and now works helping students with economics tuition, and helping Sevenoaks Welcomes Refugees support a local family under the vulnerable refugeee scheme .
Libby says:
" Having lived and worked here for 25 years, I know our part of Sevenoaks well. I also know many of the residents and the issues they face.
I will listen to the voice of young people, who want to drive forward practical solutions for the environment in Sevenoaks.
We live in a lovely community with extraordinary talents. We can make it a much better Sevenoaks.
Together, we have helped Sevenoaks through the last two years. Together, we can cut pollution, be more energy efficient and green our streets."

TOWN AND ST JOHNS WARDS
Lise Michealides
Lise was elected to represent Town Ward in May 2019.
She has lived in the Sevenoaks area for almost 30 years with her family, including three grown up children.
Lise is passionately committed to grassroots community issues, to creating better opportunities in housing and for young people.
She has served as a school governor, works at the Sevenoaks food bank, and has set up a community lunch club.
Lise is interested in sustainable food and how to promote it.

Sue Camp (Vice Chair of Planning Committee)

Edenbridge Town Council
There are two Liberal Democrats on Edenbridge Town Council
Jon Aldridge
Jon has lived in Edenbridge since 2016, and was first elected in 2019. He is vice-chair of the Planning & Transport, and Emergency Planning Committees, and sits on the Finance, Open Spaces, and Forward Planning committees.
Jon would like to see Edenbridge develop as a vibrant family-friendly town with strong links to West-Kent and London.

Alan Danmodaran
Alan has lived in Edenbridge for over 10 years, and was first elected in 2019. He is on the Open Spaces, Finance, Emergency Planning and Forward Planning committees.
Alan is passionate about representing local people, and wants to bring better services to the local community while preserving the character of Edenbridge.
