New Councillor Takes Her Seat
Libby Ancrum, new Councillor for Sevenoaks Eastern Ward joined her colleagues at the Annual Meeting of Sevenoaks Town Council this week. Libby's result was one of the first declared on local election night last Thursday, and the most emphatic. She took 82% the vote against 18% for her Conservative opponent. Turnout was up on the last election in 2019.
Libby says " I would like to thank the voters of Sevenoaks Eastern Ward for electing me as their new town councillor. It was great that so many residents made the effort to vote and that their endorsement of the Liberal Democrats, and their confidence in me, was so resounding.
I look forward to working with my colleagues across the town council to make Sevenoaks a safer and more sustainable town, from initiatives on 20mph traffic speed to safer crossing points for our children. I will continue to listen to the views of residents and look forward to meeting them regularly on doorsteps and elsewhere in community forums.
