Dartford Liberal Democrat candidate Kyle Marsh is calling on the Conservative Party to rethink its Nurse Tax, a £400 "health surcharge" for non-EU workers, which will be all non-UK workers if we leave the European Union.
"The Conservatives' proposed NHS visa is a solution to a problem we don't need to have. With an 8.1% vacancy rate in our Health Service. That's 100,000 people.
We need to make it easier for nurses to join us, not harder."
"I have already written to [Conservative candidate] Gareth Johnson about the negative impact of the Health Surcharge on teacher recruitment. I am shocked that he wants to see this charge extended to our hardworking nurses, who are the backbone of our NHS."
