Hard Brexit is a dangerous path for UK to tread

Self-congratulatory talk on the triggering of Article 50 from the Brexiteer cheerleaders is undoubtedly premature.

Prime Minister Theresa May's Hard Brexit continues to split the UK asunder, and takes us down a dangerous path of isolation; with May saying she is determined to pull us out of the Single Market before she has even begun discussions is ludicrous.

These negotiations will be some of the most complex to ever take place - they may well exceed the two-year window the Treaties allow and they will require much skill and clever compromise.

If the Prime Minister goes in all guns blazing I am afraid we will end up with the very worst thing for all of us: industry, trade and the NHS: no deal at all.

Only the Lib Dems are fighting to stop Britain falling off a Hard Brexit cliff-edge, leading to job losses and higher food prices.

Only the Lib Dems are calling for another referendum for the British public at the end of the Article 50 process.

And only the Lib Dems are standing up for the rights of EU citizens already living and working in the UK.

Send a strong message to Theresa May and the Tories.

Vote for your local Lib Dem KCC candidates on Thursday May 4th to help defend local jobs and services and avoid a Hard Brexit in Sevenoaks and Swanley.
